Free Credit Report

It's always a good idea to keep an eye on your credit rating these days. Credit is important for so many things, and with a bad rating you?ll find yourself severely limited financially. If you don't know what your credit

Free Credit Report.com is one of the better-known and more popular sites to get a free online credit report. I've tried out a number of different credit report sites, and Free Credit Report.com is probably one of the better ones I've used. Most of them are pretty much the same deal, so it doesn't really matter which one you choose. However, there are some blatant scams out there, so its always a good idea to stick with tried and tested sites like Free Credit Report.com.

You've probably seen the commercials for Free Credit Report.com all over the place. While they seemed to have lessened somewhat lately, a short while a go the credit service exploded all over the television in an aggressive advertising campaign to get themselves established. Now I'm beginning to see a lot of competitors pop up in there own ad campaigns on TV and across the internet as well.

While the commercials are kind of annoying and obnoxious, Free Credit Report.com is actually a decent way to get a fast credit report without paying anything. Like everything else advertised as 'free' there's of course a catch or two to watch out for, however. First of all, when you sign up for a 'free' report on Free Credit Report.com, you are automatically registered for a service called Triple Advantage. While the first month of this service is indeed free, if you don't cancel your membership within 30 days you'll start getting a $12.95 bill every month on your credit card. This isn't really a big deal, you just have to make sure you cancel your membership if you don't want the service.

The other catch is that the basic free report you get from Free Credit Report.com is indeed very basic and not very detailed. Basically, its just your credit score number without any explanation of why it is what it is. If you discover that your credit rating is lower than you thought and want to know exactly why, you have to 'upgrade' your membership, which of course costs money. However, if you're fortunate to find your credit rating is fine, there isn't much need to pay any money.
